Objective: To explore the appropriate concentration of glucose diluent for application of sodium bicarbonate in the correction of metabolic acidosis in pediatric thoracoscopic surgery. Methods: Children undergoing thoracoscopic lobectomy were selected as the research objects. And 5% sodium bicarbonate was diluted in different concentrations of glucose solution to correct metabolic acidosis. Changes in arterial pH
blood osmotic pressure
anionic gap
standard base residue and blood glucose levels at different time points were compared. Results: When 2.5% and 5% glucose injection diluted sodium bicarbonate was used to correct metabolic acidosis
there was no significant difference in arterial pH
blood osmotic pressure
anion gap and standard base residue at different time points. The blood glucose level of 2.5% glucose group was lower than that of 5% glucose group at different time points
and the blood glucose fluctuation was smaller. Conclusion: The use of 2.5% glucose injection diluted sodium bicarbonate to correct metabolic acidosis is a better method in pediatric thoracoscopic surgery.
